About Me

“I couldn’t have timed that any worse!...”

I first moved to Arizona in 2006.  I attained my real estate license that year, only to see the market take a nose-dive!  However, it taught me that in order to be successful in real estate, you have to be respectful of the cyclical market.  There is money to be made during each phase of the cycle if you know where, and when, to look.

Prior to moving to Arizona, I was a Naval Officer in the U.S. Navy after earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.  I served aboard the USS Antietam (CG-54) as the Electrical Officer and then aboard the USS Thach (FFG-43) as the Fire Control (a.k.a. Missile Systems) Officer.  I also led a Boarding Team where we inspected the supply ships within the Persian Gulf region for smuggled oil and weapons.  My service in the navy taught me from an early age how to persevere and thrive during difficult times or situations – something that certainly comes in handy during real estate market cycles!

After serving for nearly 7 years in the navy, I decided to earn my Masters in Business Administration because I knew that I wanted to learn the ins and outs of successfully managing a business.  I attended Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business because of their focus on using quantitative analysis in business decision-making.  I have found the accounting and analysis skills that I learned invaluable in my management of real estate investments – for myself as well as others.

Within real estate, I’ve worked in property management, residential, and commercial.  While I enjoy all three of these facets, I especially enjoy analyzing investment opportunities.  Helping others find success in real estate is what I enjoy most about my work.

I have started on my journey to attain my CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation.  It’s a tremendous curriculum taught by seasoned commercial real estate professionals.  I've completed the financial analysis class (CI 101) and I'm looking forward to the next one.

My wife, Shannon, and I have been real estate investors ourselves for a number of years now, and it’s the primary reason why I chose to make it my profession.  We have two children, ages 7 & 9, who keep us busy when we’re not looking at real estate for ourselves or for our investors.  I enjoy mountain biking, playing basketball, paddle boarding, hiking and good beer.  If I can ever be of service to you in your real estate transactions, I would certainly be honored.
